INTRO TO RISOGRAPH - Sunday, April 22nd 1-5 pm
Sunday, April 22nd 1-5 pm
Instructor: Amy Burek
Learn the basics of printing with the risograph, a machine that looks like a photocopier and works like a screen printer. During this introductory workshop, we will examine the ins and outs of the machine and discuss what types of projects translate well to riso printing. We will also cover file prep, paper selection, registration for multiple colors, troubleshooting common problems, and an overview of bay area Risograph resources.
Each participant will have the opportunity to print an edition of 30 one-color or two-color prints. Bring a hard copy of your image (designed in black and white or converted to grayscale) on 8.5”x11” paper. For two-color printing, your image must be color separated into two grayscale images. Materials will also be available for image making during class.
We will be printing on a Risograph 220. Ink colors currently available: black, navy blue, teal, purple and fluorescent orange (subject to change).
Contact Amy Burek at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions about file preparation.
